After a long gap, ace film-maker Karan Johar is all set with his next star studded movie. The title of the movie is “Takht” which will also star Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor. It is based in the Mughal era. It’s history. It’s about two warring brothers and it’s based on facts as we know them.
Karan Johar announced the cast of Takht, his next directorial, via a tweet on Thursday morning. Taking to twitter, the film director wrote, “I am so excited and honoured to announce the lead cast of #TAKHT.”
According to the latest reports the role of every actor in this movie is revealed. Ranveer will be essaying the role of Dara Shikoh (the eldest son of Shahjahan), Vicky will be seen playing the role of his younger brother Aurangzeb, Kareena will be seen playing Shahjahan's daughter Jahanara Begum. While Alia will reportedly play Ranveer's wife Begum Nadira Banu and on the other side, the role of Aurangzeb’s wife Dilras Banu Begum will reportedly be played by Bhumi Pednekar. Last but not the least, the young actress Janhvi Kapoor is expected to be seen as a slave girl in the epic.
With such a multi-star cast, the screenplay of the movie is by Sumit Roy and the dialogues are written by Hussain Haidry. 'Takht" is scedule to be release in 2020.
