One of the most important tourist attractions, “Amber Fort” or “Amer Fort” in Jaipur city is situated on a hill. Amber Fort was built by Raja Man Singh I and is known for its artistic style, blending both Hindu and Rajput elements. With its large ramparts, series of gates and cobbled paths, the fort overlooks the Maota Lake, at its forefront.
To accentuate the glory of this historical place during night, the night tourism was being inaugurated by the government of Rajasthan officially on February 21 2015.
It was a mesmerizing sight to behold when I first saw the magnificent Amber Fort all illuminated in the glory of night! The fascinating beauty of Amber Fort for night tourism added a new dimension to tourism in the city. With beautiful placement of lights to enhance the visual display of the monument and its places, was quite an experience not only for foreigners but also domestic tourists who came to see the Amber Fort at night.
The various different sections of this fort which are lighten up and look mesmerizing under the black sky includes Ganesh Pol, Diwan-e-aam (Court of Generals) and Diwan-e-Khas (Court of Specials). A light and sound show in Amber Palace is organized during the same hours.
The well-organized evening light and sound show at the fort is a fascinating attraction for all the tourists who visit this place. Here the story of Rajputs is been narrated which takes you through the memory lane of Amber describing its traditions and the grand lifestyle of the royal family. You can visit the fort between 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM and experience the beauty of the fort in colourful lights.
Here, the narration of the fort is voiced by Amitabh Bachchan. The show starts on every evening at Kesar Kyari. The fees of the light and sound show Rs. 250+18% GST= Rs. 295 per person which is very nominal. You will get to see and experience history and the rulers of city.
Amber definitely got a magical makeover at night and it was really an attraction for me and for the tourists as well!
