Are you going for a job interview in the coming future?
But before that you need to do a lot of preparation. A job interview is a common and an inevitable part of acquiring a job. As they say that “First impression is the last impression”. Interviews are all about impressing the interviewer with your skills. Also you need to tell the interviewer why you are perfect for the profile for which you’ve applied for. Well, we all know that with time the competition level is also increasing and it really demands for so much of efforts to stand out among the crowd.
Do a little homework prior your job interview!
Before going for the interview, you have to take care of everything i.e. from taking care of your clothes to your soft skills. So many talented people lose the job opportunities because they lack in small-small things.
To help you in nailing your job interview I have curated a list of few things or steps that you need to follow to ace your job interview.
1. Go through the company/firm properly-
It would be better for you if you do proper research about the job profile. It will not only impress the interviewer but also increase your chances of clearing the interview even more. From the past performance to current, you should know about each and every aspect of the film. Read up about the organization and its overall mission. Moreover, reading up a little on the latest projects undertaken by the firm and its online presence is always desirable.
2. Research everything about the Job Profile-
It is always better to thoroughly understand the role and responsibilities of the job profile you’re going for. Brush up your knowledge on understanding the skill set required for the post.
3. Study about interviewer’s background-
Try to find out who is interviewing you, seeing their LinkedIn profiles, asking around current employees of the organization are a good way to make a distinctive impression during the interview.
4. Dress to impress-
Selecting an ideal outfit for the interview is very crucial. I am not saying that dressing well is all you need to crack the interview, but yeah somewhere dressing smartly helps a lot. Candidates that come in with casual attire or messy clothes look not serious about the job. Therefore pick up nice chic formals that make you feel confident and look good. Remember your outfit should also match the business you will be applying for.
5. Practice, Practice and Practice-
“Practice makes a man perfect”! Try to plan a dummy interview with your friends or family members. Try resume-based questions, case studies and other behavioral interjections. It is the extra mile that would take you a longer way.
6. Prepare how you’ll be introducing yourself-
The interviewer will not only judge just your technical skills but your confidence and soft skills as well. So before going for the interview, prepare a short introduction about yourself, which highlight your strengths and skills.
7. Ask queries-
Don’t feel shy of putting your own questions. Ask reasonable and smart questions of your own. In such way, you will show that you are really interested in this job and that you are engaged in the conversation.
7. Complete all the formalities-
Prior your interview, complete and bring all necessary documents that you’ll require in your interview. Go through the interview letter, create a checklist and get yourself all set with your resumé, certificates and any other pre-requisites.
Following these simple tips and I assure you that you’ll get the job of your dream!
